Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world.
To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 8 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Are you ready to try it out?

Boat dive
Discover scuba diving with boat trip
This scuba diving trial with a boat trip from Makarska Riviera is made for the beginners who want a full experience, and to start an excursion once you assimilated all the prerequisites. Join the other divers for our half-day boat trip, and discover diving directly by jumping in the crystal clear sea. It is also the perfect occasion to admire a bunch of fishes, corals, sponges, sea slugs, and the real colour of the Adriatic's seabed.
This training is made of a theoretical part you will do with our instructors at the dive centre. There, you will also learn the most important things about diving, and familiarized yourself with the equipment. Afterwards, embark on our boat, that will lead you to your dive area. On the way, you can start to relax by admiring the landscape of the Dalmatian Mountains. Once in the water, and after a few surface exercises, the only thing you will have to do is to enjoying this unique subaquatic experience, for more than one hour, and up to a depth of 12.
The dive area depends on our schedule, but we usually go close to the island of Brač, in the Vruja Bay, or near the Osejava reef. Each spot offers different landscapes to explore, but many of them are perfectly suitable for a first experience, enabling you to contemplate a lot of underwater marvels, like coral reefs, walls, and caves.
Programme:
We will meet at 8:00 am at our dive centre. You will receive your equipment, and will have the time to familiarize yourself with it. After a theoretical part, where you will learn all the required information about diving and using the equipment, we will warm up with a few surface exercises to acclimatize yourselves to the water, and to this unusual diving gear. Afterwards, we will dive for more than an hour. Our purpose is firstly to let you dive safely, and to help you learn and assimilate the basics. Our instructors will also teach you to recognize some species. We will return to where we departed from around 02:00 pm.

Beach dive
Discover Scuba Diving
This trial dive on Makarska Beach is perfectly suited for the youngest aspiring divers, and for those who do not feel comfortable jumping off the boat. It is the perfect occasion to learn the basics of diving with no stress, easily. From the beach of the Hotel Dalmacija, nearby our base, you will have the opportunity to dive until 5 m depth in the sheltered water of the shore. Our instructors will supervise you, and give you advice to progress easily and to stay relaxed, which is the most important thing. Once you have understood and assimilated the basics by doing some surface exercises, we will start our 45-minute dive.
Dive Area
During this first experience, you will stay close to the beach, in shallow and sheltered waters. The purpose is to teach you the basics, and to help you get used to them. The visibility is usually quite good here, so you will still have the opportunity to the rich flora and fauna of the Adriatic Sea.
Programme:
We will meet at 08:00 am at our dive centre. You will receive your equipment, and will have the time to familiarize yourself with it. After a theoretical part, where you will learn all the required information about diving and usingthe equipment, we will warm up with a few surface exercises to acclimatize yourselves to the water, and to this unusual diving gear. Afterwards, we will dive for 45 minuntes. The whole experience lasts 2 hours.

Fun as it sounds
Bubblemaker Program
Experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Pro. Take your first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6 ft. For children who are at least 8 years old.
Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds – a chance for kids to blow bubbles by scuba diving. Children who are at least 8 years old can use scuba gear to breathe underwater and swim around in shallow water. Have a party or celebrate a birthday by throwing a memorable, exciting Bubblemaker experience! On the Bubblemaker program, participants get a basic introduction to how to use scuba gear, how to clear a regulator and mask, and an overview of breathing do’s and don’ts.
A child must be 8 years old or older. Kids must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary. Parental approval is required.
Bubblemakers get a chance to:
• Experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of a PADI Pro.
• Take their first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6 feet.
• Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children – not adults.
• Have lots of fun.

Snorkeling
It is fascinating how snorkeling is something really easy! You’re not sure if you would like to take the complete dive equipment? Then snorkeling is perfect for you! Just look below the surface, and admire this new world, while breathing through your snorkel, and when you find something appealing, take a deep breath and swim toward it in apnoea. You’ll see many appealing things during our half-day boat trip along the Makarska Riviera! Our snokeling trip is made of one/two stops, and grant you with a lot of independence. You are on the same boat with the scuba divers, and while they are exploring the depth, you have plenty of time to visit the rocks and reefs, to watch the divers from the surface and to sunbath on the deck of the boat.
Snorkeling Site
The area is full of a rich biodiversity, and offers a nice amount of different diving spots. With your mask and your snorkel, you can easily observe psychadelic sea slugs, funny octopuses, and shy seahorses, as well as schools of breams. The rocky coves and the coral reefs are also places that worth a visit.
Programme:
We are meeting at 9:00 am at our dive centre with the other scuba divers. Once you are equipped, we will make our way to our Speed boat. While we are heading to the first dive area, you can enjoy the landscape, and the view of the Biokovo Mountain. Our instructors will take time to point you the best spots around, and teach you some snorkeling skills. Once all the scuba divers are back, we will return to where we departed from around 2:00 pm.
